The Birmingham Civil Rights Institute

The BCRI’s latest exhibition entitled: Courage Under Fire: The 1961 Burning of the Freedom Riders’ Bus opened yesterday. There will be a free program May 12th @ 6pm with several speakers including a survivor of the incident.

I had a sneak peek at the photos before they were hung in the exhibit and they are incredible. A different experience then any documentary could convey. I can’t wait to see them again in the Odessa Woolfolk Gallery at the BCRI.
